
Fetch Storage Happenings
Boston, MA – November 2000 - Boston.COMpetition, a business plan competition sponsored by Cambridge Incubator and Boston.com, awarded second place in their annual competition to Fetch Storage. The core idea is to offer service-orientated storage solutions, including pick up and delivery of items on short notice.
Boston, MA – February 2003 – Fetch Storage officially launched as a premiere service provider of storage solutions in Eastern Massachusetts. Funded by angel investors, the company intends to focus on residential and commercial customers. Fetch Storage was founded by and will be managed by Hank Goddard and Troy Kenyon, managing partners at Tremont Associates.
Boston, MA – March 2003 – Fetch Storage quickly gained momentum and was recognized as the ‘Preferred Provider of Storage Solutions’ by two marquee rental communities in Boston, Charles River Park and Church Park.
Boston, MA – February 2004 – Fetch Storage added summer storage solutions for students. Many students, including out-of-state students and those studying abroad, need short-term storage. For those students lacking a car to access self-storage sites, Fetch Storage fills this unattended market.
Boston, MA – March 2004 – Fetch Storage launched its concierge solutions, forming their first partnership with Tillingers Concierge. The storage company enables the concierge to offer a unique service, a full-service storage company, at a substantial 10 percent discount. Tillingers markets the Fetch Storage service in their newsletter, offering another amenity to their time-starved, upscale customers.
Boston, MA – November 2004 - Fetch Storage received $10,000 in funding from Babson College. Annually, Babson awards seed funding for promising start-up businesses. A group of students, lead by Ken Accardi, who served on a company board with Hank Goddard, Fetch Storage’s founder, profiled the company. The group of students analyzed the business and wrote an extensive mock business plan.
